The Bukhara Urial belong to the family of cloven-hoofed and horned sheep. This species can be hunted only if they are 7-8 years old. Animals older than 7 years are observed by specialists with special binoculars according to several traits, such as the size of their horns and speed of movement. Foreign hunters do not prefer sheep with small horns. This species of rare animal is common in the Vakhsh mountain massif and in the districts of Baljuvan, Kubodiyan, N. Khusravsky and Shamsiddin Shohin. Bukhara mountain sheep (urial) lives at altitudes from 450 to 2,500 meters above sea level.
